This set is the'revised' second edition, fifth impression and all volumes retain their original grey dustwrappers which are unclipped. Tolkien's fantasy novels have captured the imagination of generations.

They resurged the genre and led to Tolkien's reputation as the'Father' of modern fantasy literature. With the folding maps of Middle Earth to the rear of each volume. In the original full cloth bindings. Externally, very smart with just some minor bumping to the head and tail of spines. Dustwrappers are very smart with light shelfwear to the head and tail of spine.

A few tape residue marks to the flyleaves. Internally, all volumes are firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.

Overall Condition: Near Fine Very Good Indeed. Fine - Very well preserved copy showing very little wear. Only one or two minor faults, really a very attractive copy. Quite a wide term meaning no major faults but probably several smaller ones. Often expected given the age of the book, but still a respectable copy. Some more serious faults as will.
