J. R. R. Tolkien, The Lord of the Rings, 1966 1st printing of the 2nd Edition

  
Allen & Unwin all 1966, first printings of the second editions. Correct dust jackets with titles on the flaps blocked out due to printing error. (Many collectors don't know about this feature). Books are very good, square tight bindings. FotR and RotK have old tape residue inside covers. FotR has a scrap to the rear cover along the bottom edges. This is not immediately noticeable and hidden by the dust jacket. TT not, with the dust jacket slight different colour on spine indicating it came from a different set. Spine ends have missing paper and tattering, but covers are quite nice. These are now extremely rare in any condition.
