Allen & Unwin 1966, 65, 65, impressions 15, 11, 11. Some damp marks and darkening to the jacket spines, but otherwise one of the finer condition first editions sets we've seen for some months. A very important set as the last printing set before the 1966 Second Edition. They are surprisingly rare, perhaps because people waited for the 2nd edition and few sets still remain? Tolkien insisted on many text changes for the 2nd edition which didn't fully happen until the 1967 2nd printing of 2nd edition.
