Music for piano and guitar. This is a hardback book with red covers in excellent condition.

The dust jacket is very good with two small tears and chip to the top back as shown in the picture. The jacket is slightly wavy as shown in the photo but it is not damaged but a result of the way it was stored, I believe.

The binding is tight and there is little wear. There is no writing or other marks inside.

The book is near fine and seems barely used. The dark area in bottom right photo of the jacket cover is a shadow from picture taking, not a darkness on the dust jacket. From the dust jacket: In Tolkien's books Bolbo, Frodo, Sam Treebeard, Tom Bombadil and the Elves often sing but only the words of the songs appeared in his books.

Here with the assistance of Professor Tolkien, Donald Swann has provided music for seven songs - six from the Lord of the Rings trilolgy and one from The Adventures of Tom Bombadil. Tolkien has embellished the pages of music with Elvish script and has provided a glossary of Elvish terms used in the songs. Donald Swann's foreword explains the origins of the songs. The song cycle lends itself to performance on the concert platform or to informal singing around a piano.
