Pauline Baynes, illustrated books for J R R Tolkien, beginning with Farmer Giles of Ham in 1949. She also illustrated books for C S Lewis, most famously The Chronicles of Narnia. A very good copy in a very good price clipped dust jacket. A couple of minor stains on the dust jacket and two small tape repairs verso, the book is clean and bright throughout.

A wonderful addition to any Tolkien Collection.
